SECRETS
PERRYVILLE ROAD PROPOSAL - WINNEBAGO COUNTY
It appears that Kris Cohn, the *County Board and developers would like to keep secret the facts about their proposal
for a Perryville Road Extension. No legitimate study supports this road. - NO COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS -- The request for this was ignored!(I would refrain from supporting a need to build a new road -- if a potential need to move more traffic north and south is to be studied -- then the alternative should be considered -- millions could be saved)
- Your County Taxes have already
gone up 5.5% this year!- At the same time, the Sheriffs department & River Bluff Nursing Home were asked to cut 2.63% from their budgets.
> 15 Sheriff office vacancies are not being filled as a result. <
- Compromised wetlands and endangered species in the Kinnikinnick Creek.
- Older, established areas left to deteriorate and die in and around Rockford.
- Two Grade Schools would have 4 additional lanes of traffic all along their east sides.
- 8 to 12% of remaining vacant land would be absorbed.
- Ground water contamination due to unstable soil and fractured limestone penetrations.
And, your taxes would go up all over the county in order to pay for it!
What can you do? Sign our petition and we will pass it on for you. Contact us via mail, Email, or fax for petition forms. We can make a difference!
* County Board members Larry Bauer, Pete Mackay and Polly Berg are against this project.
