A peaceful demonstration of support for the Ditzler family is scheduled to be held at the Northern Illinois University , Rockford Education Center building where Governor Ryan is expected to host a Town Meeting tomorrow, 5/4/00, at 6:00 p.m., in Rockford Illinois. Supporters of the Ditzlers will be carrying signs asking Governor Ryan to execute an amendatory veto when a bill containing ‘Quick Take’ legislation comes before him. This bill has not yet been signed by Governor Ryan. However, Winnebago County has claimed 9 acres of the 16 acres owned by the Ditzlers as of April 11, 2000 [State of Illinois in the Circuit Counrt of the 17^th Judicial Circuit County of Winnebago. County of Winnebago, Plaintiff vs. Thomas E. Ditzler and Janice l. Ditzler, Defendants. At Law Case No. 00 ED 5]

Winnebago County would like to begin construction on a road using the Ditzler property. Documents demonstrating the need for the road, or the costs involved, have not yet been produced by County Officials.
