Letter To Kristine Cohn Requesting a Cost Benefit Analysis For Perryville Road

March 6, 2000

Winnebago County Board, Chairman Kristine Cohn, 404 Elm Street, Room 504 Rockford, IL 61101

Dear Madame Chairman:

Please provide us with the Cost Benefit Analysis for the Perryville Road construction project. We look forward to a clear and timely response, as outlined in the "Stateline Area Transportation Study Wisconsin-Illinois" (pages 10-12), adopted September 23, 1998, of which you are listed as being on the Policy Committee. "Under ISTEA, metropolitan planning organizations are required to solicit more public involvement than ever before. The Act mandates that the transportation planning process include early, continuing, and proactive public involvement, which provides complete information, timely public notice, and full public access to key decisions". Under Public Involvement Goals, Objectives, and Strategies, SLATS identifies four main goals to achieve this.

  • The public will be involved early on in the process
  • All citizens will be given the opportunity to participate.
  • The public will be provided with clear, timely, and accurate information.
  • The public participation process will be flexible and varied. Several techniques will be employed and combined in order to yield the most effective results and to meet any particular needs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Eugene A. Brown, President
